Every glyph is a soft-body joint. Type fast and the line tightens; drag the cursor and the letters trail behind it like weed in a current.

How it works

A Verlet integrator runs on an OffscreenCanvas inside a worker, so the main thread only ever paints. Constraint solving is capped at four iterations per frame, which is enough to look like cloth and cheap enough to hold sixty frames on a mid-range phone.

Notes

Nothing is stored server-side. The last document sits in localStorage and nowhere else.

Changelog

  • v1.2 — Worker rewrite: physics moved off the main thread.
  • v1.1 — Added Shift-to-freeze and a share-by-URL document format.
  • v1.0 — First release.
